Deputy Secretary General: NATO highly appreciates Azerbaijan's role in the fight against terrorism

Baku. 20 September. REPORT.AZ/ NATO highly appreciates Azerbaijan's role in fighting terrorism, NATO Deputy Secretary General Rose Gottemoeller said speaking to reporters, according to Report.

"We are very glad that Azerbaijan actively supports the peacekeeping mission in Afghanistan, increasing its role there. Azerbaijan also plays a very significant role in diversifying cargo supplies to Afghanistan. By this way Azerbaijan actively supports NATO's efforts in the fight against terrorism," the Deputy Secretary General of the Alliance said.

Rose Gottemoeller also noted the importance of NATO's cooperation with Azerbaijan, as a major player in the region: "We are working on many projects and these projects serve the interests of Azerbaijan itself."
