Deputy Minister: There is divergence between the EU and Azerbaijan on launching negotiations regarding strategic cooperation agreement

Baku. 3 December. REPORT.AZ/ "Mandate should be given to launch negotiations regarding strategic cooperation agreement between the EU and Azerbaijan".

Report informs, Mahmud Mammadguliyev, Deputy of Azerbaijani Foreign Minister told reporters.

According to him, there is divergence between the EU and Azerbaijan on this issue: "Azerbaijan's stand regarding this issue is that mandate should be given to launch negotiations and discussion should be held. The EU leadership considers that firstly meeting and general discussions shoul be held. Then mandate shall be given regarding strategic cooperation agreement".

According to M. Mammadguliyev, Azerbaijan should be quick in this issue: "We consider that they are to come in 2016 to discuss the issue".
