Deputy FM: Armenia must demonstrate political will and constructive approach
Report / Firi Salim

The Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict is over, after Azerbaijan liberated its lands from almost 30-year Armenian occupation, restoration and reconstruction works are held in these territories," Azerbaijan's Deputy Foreign Minister Mahmud Mammad-Guliyev said at the 6th meeting of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) in Nur-Sultan (Kazakhstan).

Report informs that he noted that these territories were declared the zone of green energy. They are reconstructed under the concept of 'smart city' and 'smart village.' The participation of private sector representatives from several CICA members was assessed as a new indicator of cooperation between the organization member-states.

The deputy minister stressed that the Zangazur corridor has excellent potential for post-conflict normalization, strengthening regional peace and trust, and developing trade and transport communications in north-south and east-west directions.

In his speech, Mammad-Guliyev informed the participants about the consequences of the mass pollution by Armenia of Azerbaijani territories with mines and other explosives and Yerevan's reluctance to provide Azerbaijan with the precise maps of minefields in violation of the international humanitarian law.

Stressing the normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia is based on mutual respect for sovereignty, territorial integrity, and inviolability of internationally recognized borders, signing of a peace deal between the two countries, and border delimitation and demarkation, it was underlined that Armenia must demonstrate a political will and constructive approach for the implementation of these proposals.
