Istanbul.19 October. REPORT.AZ/ The Ministers Council meeting of the summit of the Developing 8 (D-8) has started in Istanbul.

Turkey bureau of Report informs, Turkey invited Azerbaijan to this event as a special guest.

Turkish foreign minister Mövlüt Çavuşoglu, Pakistani foreign minister Khawaja Asif and others delivered a speech at the opening of the Ministers Council meeting. Afterwards, presidency over D-8 switched from Turkey to Pakistan.

The council will address the organization’s activity in past period and discuss the cooperation and prospects between member states in the field of trade, industry, transport, information, finance, cooperation in global economy, banking, technologies, fight against poverty, human recourses, agriculture, energy, environment, health, tourism, culture and sport.

Alongside Turkey, Iran, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Indonesia, Egypt and Nigeria are part of the D-8 format. Two of them, Turkey and Indonesia are members of Group of Twenty (G20).

When Turkey presided over G20 summit, Azerbaijan participated as a special guest.
