“The chairmanship of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-Speaking States (Turkic Council) has passed to Azerbaijan," Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Chingiz Aidarbekov said.

Report informs that he spoke at the opening the 7th meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the organization in Baku.

He emphasized that "the chairmanship passes to Azerbaijan from Kyrgyzstan in such a significant year, when the 10th anniversary of the signing of the Nakhchivan agreement is celebrated."

Notably, the 7th summit of the Turkic Council will be held in Baku on October 15.

The summit is timed to the 10th anniversary of the signing of the Nakhchivan agreement (October 3, 2009) on the establishment of the cooperation Council of Turkic-speaking States (Turkic Council). The agreement was signed by the leaders of Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.
