Brussels will host the discussion of opportunities for the development of the Eastern partnership program on June 18. Report says, Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda informed.

Moreover, the President expressed hope that before the meeting, the heads of the interested EU States can contact the leaders of the participating countries of the program.

Earlier, Vice-President of the European Commission, high representative of the European Union for foreign affairs and security policy Josep Borrell expressed hope that the Eastern Partnership summit will take place in June despite the coronavirus pandemic.

The EU launched the Eastern Partnership program in 2009. Its main goal is to develop regional cooperation with six countries: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine.
