British minister: "The UK and Azerbaijan have a strong bilateral relationship"

Baku. 12 February. REPORT.AZ/ On February 11, Deputy Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan, Khalaf Khalafov and Minister for Europe, David Lidington met in London  for the first UK-Azerbaijan foreign policy dialogue.

Report informs referring to the British Embassy to Azerbaijan, the ministers discussions covered a wide range of issues, including the EU’s Eastern Partnership, the conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh, Syria, the situation in Ukraine, as well as human rights and governance issues.

Following the meeting, David Lidington said: “The UK and Azerbaijan have a strong bilateral relationship, so I welcome the establishment of this important new forum. It presents good opportunities to continue to exchange views and increase understanding on important bilateral and international issues.”
