Baku responds to Armenian foreign minister

Spokesperson for the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry Leyla Abdullayeva has commented on the interview of the Armenian foreign minister to Russia's RIA Novosti.

According to Report, Abdullayeva noted that in an interview with RIA Novosti, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan reiterated official Yerevan's stance that runs contrary to traditional international law and reflects the territorial claims to Azerbaijan.

"By inciting aggressive separatism in the internationally recognized territories of Azerbaijan, the Armenian foreign minister openly demonstrates that his country did not give up the policy of aggression and 'strategy of peace and security of which he speaks is nothing but deception. We bring to the attention of the new Armenian foreign minister that Azerbaijan ensures its territorial integrity in line with the demands of international law. Now it is time to fulfill the statements signed by the parties. It is in the interests of the Armenian side to realize this reality since the country can ultimately put an end to lies and fantasies and set itself up for development and progress in the future. Our country has repeatedly stated its commitments to normalizing relations based on principles of international law. The revanchist statements and actions of the Armenian side demonstrate that this country is still not ready for the policy of neighborship based on principles of international law," the spokesperson said in a statement.
