Foreign Ministers of Turkic Council member-states convene in Baku

A meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the member countries of the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States (Turkic Council) is taking place in Baku.

Report informs that the ministerial meeting will precede the 7th Summit of the Turkic Council, which will be held in Baku on October 15.

The summit is dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the signing of the Nakhchivan agreement (October 3, 2009) on the establishment of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-speaking states (Turkic Council). The agreement was signed by the leaders of Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.

In the capital of Azerbaijan, an official decision is expected to be made on Uzbekistan's accession into the organization, and the parties will sign a number of documents, in particular, on the activities of the European office of the Turkic Council in Budapest.

On the sidelines of the summit, a decision will be made to create a Coordinating Committee of the Turkic Council, which will ensure coordination of the activities of such structures as TurkPA, TURKSOY, Turkic Academy, Turkic Heritage and Culture Foundation, Turkic Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
