Azerbaijan's top diplomat draws attention to problem of mine danger

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has underscored the importance of resolving issues pertaining to mine threats through the introduction of OSCE's practical assistance mechanism.

Report informs, citing the OSCE press service that the foreign minister said this during his speech in Vienna at the OSCE Forum for Security Cooperation.

According to him, this mechanism could contribute to the safe return of internally displaced persons to their homes.

Another security dialogue will be devoted to post-conflict reconstruction and peacebuilding, taking into account the lessons learned in the region, and consideration of such important issues as the participation of the OSCE in post-conflict reconstruction activities, as well as the obligations and opportunities of participating states, to contribute to the long-term and sustainable post-conflict recovery.
