Azerbaijani President receives Russian President's  Assistant

Baku. 9 March. REPORT.AZ/ On March 9, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation, Vice-President of the Russian Olympic Committee, Igor Levitin. Report informs that Igor Levitin presented the album devoted to the Winter Olympic Games in Sochi, to the President. Noting the serious preparation of Russian athletes for the first European Games in Baku, Igor Levitin said that 300 athletes will represent Russia in that event. He was hopeful for the first European games to be held at a high level in this country and wished success to our country.

The President congratulated Russia on the achievements in Sochi Winter Olympic Games. President Ilham Aliyev noted that a large-scale work was done in this direction though a short time passed since the acceptance of the decision on holding the first European games in Baku and he said that Azerbaijan made every efforts to organize the Games in a high-level. The head of state also stressed the importance of this sporting event not only in the country, but also in expanding international cooperation in the field of sports. The successful development of bilateral relations in all fields between Azerbaijan and Russia was emphasized and the sides expressed confidence in further expansion of relationships.
