Azerbaijani PM attends meeting of Council of CIS Heads of Government in Ashgabat

The meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of Government began in Ashgabat.

It takes place in the building of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, Report informs with reference to TASS.

Azerbaijan is represented at the meeting by Prime Minister Novruz Mammadov. In addition, the heads of the delegations of Turkmenistan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan participate in the meeting.

At the beginning of the meeting in a narrow format, the chairman of the executive committee - CIS Executive Secretary Sergey Lebedev spoke about the agenda.

"Now it is proposed to exchange views on current issues of economic cooperation of the Commonwealth of Independent States in a narrow format. We propose to end the meeting in a narrow composition by deciding on the date and venue of the next meeting of the Council of Heads of Government," Lebedev said.

He also said that the participants will hear two reports: on the preparation of a draft interstate program of innovative cooperation of the CIS states for the period up to 2030 and an agreement on the interaction of the customs authorities of the CIS countries in the field of protection of rights to intellectual property.

According to Lebedev, the newly approved first deputy head of the CIS antiterrorist center will be presented.
