Azerbaijani Ombudsman's Office has made a statement regarding the provocations of Armenian armed forces on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border.

Report informs that the statement reads:

"The tension on the Armenian-Azerbaijani state border has been ongoing for some time as a result of the provocative actions by the Armenian armed forces that run contrary to the norms of international law and the tripartite statement dated November 10, 2020.

"In continuation of their provocative actions, Armenian armed forces fired at Azerbaijani positions located in the Munjuqlu village of Tovuz from their posts in the Chinari village of Berd, at 23:05 on August 13.

"We call on Armenia to refrain from such provocative actions that create a threat to the life and health of Azerbaijani civilians and are aimed at the rude violation of fundamental human rights, recognize the territorial integrity of our country and based on respect to it, sign the final peace treaty which represents importance in terms of the political and economic development of our region and create conditions for the opening of communications by fulfulling the tripartite statement inked between the parties."
