Azerbaijani MFA comments on Tehran's statement on reopening of embassy

Spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan (MFA) Aykhan Hajizada commented on the statement of the Spokesman for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nasser Kanaani, on June 12, Report informs, citing MFA.

He said that a number of contacts have been made between Azerbaijan and Iran recently. During the negotiations between the foreign ministers, detailed views were exchanged on the known situation between the two countries: "Concerning the issue of resuming the work of our embassy, which was suspended due to the terrorist attack in January of this year, let us note that Azerbaijan expects the investigation related to the terrorist attack to be completed. The perpetrators and masterminds of the terrorist act should be brought to justice and punished in the most severe manner. The Azerbaijani side must be sure that there are conditions for the safe operation of the embassy and full guarantees must be given in this regard."
