Azerbaijani FM welcomes the release of kidnapped Turkish citizens

Baku. 23 September. REPORT.AZ/ Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry welcomes the release of the Turkish Consulate General employees and their families in Mosul taken hostage. Report infrorms, it is said in the statement of the head of the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) Hikmet Hajiyev. "Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry congratulates the staff of the Consulate General members of their families, as well as the brotherly Turkish people and extends its best wishes," the statement says.
The group "Islamic state" attacked the Consulate General of Turkey in the Iraqi city of Mosul and captured 49 Turkish citizens. The hostages were released on September 20.
