Azerbaijani FM: Necessary to reform UN Security Council

Baku. 6 April. REPORT.AZ/ "We understand that reforms must be carried out in the UN system, in particular, in the UN Security Council."

Report informs, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov said at a press conference following the results of the Non-Aligned Movement Ministerial Conference.

First of all, according to him, the number of UN Security Council members should be increased.

"Of course, the UN is a unique platform for dialogue, but we have specific requirements for the reform of this structure," Mammadyarov said, noting the need for strengthening of this structure.

"When countries become members of the UN, they take responsibility for adherence to its decisions. But today we see that resolutions on Karabakh and on many other issues remain unfulfilled", Mammadyarov added.
