Azerbaijani FM meets with Bulgarian PM

Within the framework of the official visit to the Republic of Bulgaria, the Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with the Bulgarian Prime Minister Kiril Petkov, Report informs, citing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Prime Minister welcomed the Azerbaijani Foreign Minister and stressed the importance of the visit.

Prime Minister Kiril Petkov emphasized Azerbaijan’s contribution to the energy sphere to his country at a very crucial time, noting Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev’s role in this regard and Azerbaijan's credible partnership.

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov thanked for sincere reception. He stressed that the high-level political relations between the two countries are accompanied by positive dynamics in the economic sphere.

The parties discussed the prospects for the development of relations in the energy sector, as well as in trade-economic, transport, information and communication technologies, education, culture, tourism, humanitarian and other fields. They expressed confidence that the next meeting of the Joint Commission on Trade and Economic and Scientific-technical cooperation between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Bulgaria will make a positive contribution to expanding economical relations.

Minister Bayramov informed the Prime Minister about the situation in the region during the post-conflict period, demining process, restoration and reconstruction in the liberated areas, and steps taken by the Azerbaijani government for ensuring peace.

the sides also discussed regional issues and other topics of mutual interest at the meeting.
