Azerbaijani Ambassador: 'We are ready to mediate between Russia and Turkey'

Baku. 4 February. REPORT.AZ/ 'We are ready to mediate to end crisis between Russia and Turkey.'

Report informs, Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Turkey Faig Baghirov said in his interview to 'Diplomatic Observer' magazine.

The ambassador said that Azerbaijan has good relations both with Russia and Turkey and do not consider the crisis arising between the countries after incident on aircraft shot.

F.Baghirov said that in the critical situation arising after the shot down of Russian aircraft Azerbaijan supports Turkey: 'It has been announced by President Ilham Aliyev some time ago.'

He also drew attention to importance of Turkish-Russian relations for the Caucasus region.

The diplomat noted that Azerbaijan is a brother country of Turkey and a country having strategic relations with Russia: 'We are ready to mediate if the sides want.'
