Azerbaijan's Minister of Economy responds to Armenian Deputy Minister: TRASECA caravan will continue its way

"The TRASECA project will be implemented and move forward, despite all attempts to stop it," Azerbaijan's Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov said speaking at an international conference dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the signing of the Basic Multilateral Agreement on International Transport for the Development of the Europe-the Caucasus-Asia Corridor.

"I understand the reaction of our neighbors. They have come from Yerevan to Baku, they see Baku with their own eyes and realize that it is not that easy to accept it," Jabbarov said.

He said Baku stands for a constructive approach: "And a destructive approach is much easier and more devastating. We see such results, primarily, in the neighboring country, which is isolated from a majority of projects, and it has driven itself into transport and economic deadlock and seems reluctant to get out of it," the minister said.

Jabarrov also responded to the Armenian delegation's complaint about the inclusion into the visit to Heydar Aliyev's grave in the Alley of Honors to the program of the event.

"TRASECA project and its implementation would never have come true without that vision pursued by the great Heydar Aliyev. Naturally, when compiling the cultural program of the jubilee event, the Azerbaijani side relies on aspects understandable for all civilian people and principles of memory of those, who played an invaluable role in developing the entire region," the Minister said.

Jabbarov drew the attention of the guests and the Armenian delegation to the fact that next year will mark the 75th anniversary of victory over fascism, while Yerevan has a monument of Armenian Nazi associate Garegin Nzhde, erected right in the center of it.

"I invite you to visit Heydar Aliyev Center, which hosts an exhibition about the city where you were born (Yerevan-ed.), and learn more about it. The exhibition was kindly presented to us by our Georgian counterparts. Believe me, you will learn many new things, learn about the history of its establishment. But only if you really want to learn it. As for the TRASECA caravan, it will continue its way," Jabbarov said.
