159 Pakistani citizens were sent by charter flight from Baku to Islamabad this afternoon, Report says, citing the Embassy of Pakistan in Azerbaijan. Most of the repatriated Pakistanis were tourists or businessmen who arrived in Azerbaijan on short-term visas and stranded in the country due to the suspension of all international flights after the COVID-19 outbreak.
"As a gesture of goodwill, the same flight also delivered 12 Azerbaijani citizens from Pakistan. We are extremely grateful to the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan for its support and cooperation, as well as for ensuring the smooth repatriation of our citizens," the Embassy said.
