China and Azerbaijan, making a significant contribution to the development of the international cooperation in the fight against COVID-19 pandemic, support each other and enjoy close cooperation at both bilateral and multilateral levels, said Chinese Ambassador to Azerbaijan Guo Min, Report says.
According to the Ambassador, the governments and peoples of China and Azerbaijan have fought shoulder-to-shoulder, providing mutual support.
“The leaders of the two countries have sent each other a letter of condolence, exchanged experiences on pandemic prevention and control, and provided mutual financial assistance, which demonstrates the high level of mutual trust, deep traditional friendship and a common concept of development between the countries. In the international arena, Azerbaijan, along with China, supports the principle of multilateralism and takes an active part in international cooperation in the fight against COVID-19,” stressed the Chinese Ambassador.
The novel coronavirus (COVID-19) emerged in late 2019 in China’s Hubei province, and the virus has spread to 210 countries and territories since then.
On February 11, the WHO officially named the 2019 novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) as COVID-19, and on March 11, declared it a pandemic.
