Armenia not participate in election of BSEC Secretary General in Baku

Baku. 26 June. REPORT.AZ / Armenia will not participate in the elections of the Secretary General of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organization (BSEC), as the elections will be held in Baku. Report informs citing the Armenian press, the head of the delegation of the National Assembly of Armenia to BSEC, Gagik Minasyan told at the meeting with journalists in the Armenian Parliament today.

"We stated that the Bureau would deprive Armenia of participation by holding elections in Baku. But the decision has been made, and the elections will be held in the middle of next year in Baku," Minasyan said.

Notably, within the 38th Council of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organization (BSEC), to be held on June 27 in Armenia, the chairmanship of the organization will pass to Azerbaijan and in accordance, the next meeting of the BSEC Council of Foreign Ministers will be held in Baku.

Deputy Foreign Minister Mahmoud Mammad-Guliyev will present Azerbaijan at the meeting of the BSEC Foreign Ministers Council in Yerevan on June 27.
