Ambassador of UAE: We love Azerbaijan - ARTICLE

Baku. 8 September. REPORT.AZ/ Ambassador of United Arab Emirates, Mohammed Ahmed Hamel Al Qubaisi wrote an article about tourism potential of Azerbaijan.

"It was October of last year, when I came to Azerbaijan for the first time as the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates. From the very first moments this country captured me with its warmth and brightness. And as you could observe this year, it is not only me, but most of the Arabs, who felt it. The sharp increase of the tourist inflow from the UAE to Azerbaijan is the fruitful result of the cooperation and first of all, brotherhood relations between our countries. I keep in touch with the Emiratis, who pay their first visits to Azerbaijan, the pearl of the Caucasus. They share with me their impressions, opinions and even the future plans to carry out here. There are several other factors, which are helpful for us to get our peoples closer. They are the short destination between our countries, similar traditions and of course, the visa facilitation.

You may know, that we, the Emiratis love travelling a lot. We have seen most of the parts of the world. Azerbaijan is different. Its nature, cuisine, culture are much more attractive than its luxurious restaurants. Of course, catering service is important, but it is more important to enjoy the environment of hospitable people, who take care of you as if you are a member of their own family.

Among the tourists you can find even those, who want to do business here. The business conditions provided by the country's President His Highness Mr. Ilham Aliyev makes it favorable for the investors. The Emirati investors are mostly interested in the non-oil sector, particularly in agriculture. Azerbaijan has good fertile soil, where various sorts of fruits and vegetables grow. It is a very-well known fact that, the most part of the UAE consists of the desert. So, we highly evaluate the taste of these kinds of products.

I, as the Ambassador, exert all necessary efforts to reach the highest level of the trade relations between my country and Azerbaijan. Our Embassy makes promotion for Azerbaijan among the Emiratis. And here it is also noteworthy that we do it not only specifically for the businessmen originally to be Emiratis, but for the whole UAE businessmen, who can be from different nationalities. So, as you can see, the UAE plays a key role to introduce Azerbaijan's business environment and its potential to a large mass of investors. We hold meetings and organize business forums, our companies take part at the exhibitions both in the United Arab Emirates and Azerbaijan.

Let me stress the fact that we do not stop at the investing in Azerbaijan's economy. We have already gone further. We invest in Azerbaijan's education. Yet in the previous year I visited the Baku Higher Oil School and during our meeting I assured the management in my contribution in establishing bilateral cooperation with Petroleum Institute of Abu-Dhabi. Thus, in May of the current year Baku Higher Oil School and Abu Dhabi Petroleum Institute from the United Arab Emirates signed Memorandum of Understanding.

We continue to do our best to build up a brilliant model of friendship together with our Azerbaijani friends. And I believe, that with the support of the Azerbaijani Government, we shall have new achievements at the soonest time".
