Ambassador of India outlines priority areas for cooperation with Azerbaijan

Baku. 23 December. REPORT.AZ/ "Azerbaijan and India have developed strong cooperation within the framework of international organizations, including the UN. We cooperate in a number of areas of mutual interest”.

Report informs, Ambassador of India to the Republic of Azerbaijan Sanjay Rana told journalists. He noted that India and Azerbaijan support each other in the international arena. So, India supported Azerbaijan in the issue of including a musical instrument of Kamancheh (Kamancha) and the tradition of cooking dolma in the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO.

Speaking about the main priorities of cooperation, the Ambassador noted the importance of developing physical communication between the countries through the implementation of various transport projects. In his opinion, the lack of direct communication between Azerbaijan and India is an obstacle to the development of mutual trade.

The Ambassador of India also stressed the importance of establishing joint ventures, and also expressed his intention to continue developing cooperation in the field of culture.

"Azerbaijan has developed rapidly over 25 years, our friendship and cooperation are growing, but our potential is even higher," S. Rana said.

According to him, next year the next inter-MFA consultations between Azerbaijan and India, the meeting of the intergovernmental commission and official visits are planned.
