The new agreement will lead the EU-Azerbaijan relations to a qualitatively new level, head of the EU delegation in Azerbaijan Peter Michalko said during a press conference in Baku on December 15.
The ambassador noted that the talks on this agreement continue and have entered a new round.
Michalko noted that even better results will be achieved if this agreement is signed and voiced hope that the document will be signed shortly.
He stressed the record growth in trade between the European Union and Azerbaijan.
According to Michalko, more than 50% of goods from Azerbaijan are exported to the European markets.
It should be noted that for 10 months of this year, Azerbaijan's total exports amounted to more than 32.6 billion euros. At the same time, the trade turnover between the EU and Azerbaijan exceeded 15.4 billion euros last year, which accounted for 44% of total Azerbaijani exports.
