Ambassador-at-large: Some UN resolutions fulfilled in few hours and some not for years

Baku. 21 July. REPORT.AZ/ "In the UN, some resolutions are executed in a few hours and some are not for years.

Azerbaijan, is in a similar situation where, since 1993, UN Security Council resolutions that require cessation of the occupation of the territories of my country remain unfulfilled”.

Report informs, Ambassador-at-large of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Shahin Abdullayev stated at the final session of the International Conference on the Question of Jerusalem in Baku.

According to him, reason for the fact that resolutions are often not implemented is, firstly, that there are no mechanisms to implement these resolutions: "Secondly, some countries do not want to exert pressure on other states, so conflicts become protracted”.

Sh. Abdullayev also said that Azerbaijan supports Palestinian people and expressed hope that the international conference in Baku will help advance the process of the settlement of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
