Algerian Doctor of Sciences: France must officially recognize its war crimes

France must officially recognize its war crimes, Attar Jamel, an Algerian physician and Doctor of Medical Sciences living in Paris, told Report.

According to him, Algerians living in France demand that the French state officially recognize the war crimes it committed in the past.

"We want the French state to return the skulls of Algerian martyrs that it keeps in museums. France should be ashamed of this historical injustice. Displaying the skulls of martyrs who sacrificed their lives for independence as museum exhibits is an atrocity that defies humanity," the doctor emphasized.

Jamel also underscored that France has appropriated both the material and spiritual wealth of Algeria: "We, Algerians living in France, have contributed to this country for years, but we must not forget that France has plundered Algeria and appropriated both our material and spiritual wealth."

He noted that Algerians living in France are told to "return to your home."

Jamel stated, "During the colonial period, we were taught in Algerian schools that the French were at home there (in Algeria)." He added that there are 6 million Algerian people in France. "Today, we say, Algerians are at home in France," he highlighted.
