53rd edition of Munich Security Conference program named

Baku. 30 January. REPORT.AZ/ More than 500 delegates from different countries will participate in 53rd edition of Munich Security Conference, which will be held on February 17-19.

Report informs, Ambassador Wolfgang Ischinger noted that, the conference agenda focuses on critical security challenges,fight against terrorism, the future of transatlantic relations and NATO after the election of Donald Trump, the state of EU cooperation in security and defense matters, the Ukraine crisis and relations with Russia, the war in Syria, and the security situation in the Asia-Pacific, including in the Korean peninsula.

Among this year's confirmed participants are the new UN Secretary-General, Presidents of Afghanistan, Poland, NATO Secretary General, Ministers of Defense, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu and Foreign Minister of Russia Sergei Lavrov.

Notably, Azerbaijan annually participates at the conference.
