UEFA postpones Euro 2020

The soccer world, with very few exceptions, has been put on hold by COVID-19.

The European Championships, scheduled to open in Rome on June 12, is a major topic on the agenda.

With a coronavirus pandemic raging around the globe, Euro 2020 is in doubt following the suspension of almost every domestic football league in Europe.

If the Euros are delayed for a year, which seems likely, and the Nations League is also abandoned, there would be no international soccer in Europe until next March.

The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) has postponed Euro 2020, the 2020 UEFA European Football Championship, which was planned to be held this summer in 12 European countries, Report informsç citing The New York Times.

The decision was announced at a meeting of representatives of UEFA, the European Club Association (ECA) and the International Federation of Professional Footballers Association (FIFPRO). Officially, it will be declared on March 17 at the UEFA videoconference with 55 national member associations. The meeting of the UEFA Executive Committee is to take place at 18:00 (Baku time).

According to the decision, the tournament will be organized next summer.
