U-17 European championship kicks off in Baku

Baku. 5 May. REPORT.AZ/ Today U-17 European championship will start in Baku.

Report informs, 16 teams will contest in 4 groups at finals of the continental championship.

On the first day, 4 matches will be held. Azerbaijani team of A group will play against Portugal.

The match will take place at Baku Olympic Stadium after opening ceremony. The ceremony will start at 19:30, the match at 20:00 local time. Polish referee Bartosz Frankowski will manage the game. Hungarian Balaj Buzas and Moldovan Vasili Yermishin will act as assistant referees. 4th referee of the match will be Lithuanian Sergejus Slyva.

Other teams of the group will play at Bakcell Arena. Belgium-Scotland match will start at 19:00 local time.

Tabriz Hasanov's team will play against Belgium on May 8 and against Scotland on May 11. Both matches will be held at Bakcell Arena.

Today, Ukraine-Germany, Austria-Bosnia and Herzegovina matches also will be held in the B group.

The 15th continental tournament will end on May 21.

Notably, according to the regulations, the teams, wining first two places in the groups, will meet at 1/4 finals. The matches will be held on May 14-15. The teams, qualifying for semifinals, will fight on May 18 for finals. The decisive match will be held at the Baku Olympic Stadium on May 21.
