Tamkin Khalilzade: Hear from you that I invited to Azerbaijani national team

Baku. 23 August. REPORT.AZ/ “Have I been invited to the national team? I hear this from you. Playing in the national team has always been my target. This is a great honor for me.”

Tamkin Khalilzade, Zira football player who has been invited to Azerbaijani national team for the first time, told Report.

The 24-year-old defender said that from now on, his goal was to strengthen his position in the national team: “Playing for the national team is the dream of every footballer. I am happy that I have achieved it. However, it is not enough; I am at the beginning of the road. It means that I should work hard not to be invited just once. The main point is to strengthen positions in the squad and literally help the national team.”

Tamkin Khalilzade noted that he was ready for the match to be held with Norway in Oslo at the selection stage of the World Cup 2018 on September 1 and the match with San Marino to be held in Baku at Bakcell Arena on September 4.

He also stressed that he was not going to change his club for now: “I have a one-year contract with Zira. I do not think that my activity in the national team will impact my club career.”
