Tahir Gozel: 'We dedicate Qarabag's victory to President Ilham Aliyev'

Qarabag FK dedicates its victory over Portuguese Benfica in the first round of the UEFA Champions League to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, team president Tahir Gozel told the Aghdam team's website, Report informs.

He noted that this game went down in the history of Azerbaijani football as the first victory in the Champions League group stage.

"We dedicate this victory to the conqueror of Qarabag, a historical figure, the great and brilliant leader of the people, Supreme Commander-in-Chief, President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev," said Gozel.

Qarabag FK, trailing 0-2, scored three goals and secured a comeback victory, 3-2. This victory marked the first for an Azerbaijani club in the UEFA Champions League group stage.
