Roy Keane, Michael Essien – among the best

The Independent has published a list of the top 100 footballers who have played in the English Premier League since 1992.

Roy Keane, the leading candidate for head coach of the Azerbaijani national team, the legendary midfielder of Manchester United, is also among them, Report says. The 49-year-old Irish specialist has taken the 4th place.

Former Chelsea player Michael Essien, who is currently continuing his career in Sabail FC, is ranked 62nd.

Former Arsenal striker Thierry Henry tops the list. Ex-midfielder in Manchester United Cristiano Ronaldo, who currently dons the Juventus jersey, is the second, while his former Manchester United team-mate and Wales manager Ryan Giggs is the third.

Earlier, AFFA confirmed it is in talks with Roy Keane about becoming the new national team boss of the Azerbaijani squad.
