Robert Prosinečki: Working in European clubs in my future plans
Report

Baku. 31 October. REPORT.AZ/ “As soon as head coach position becomes vacant in Zagreb and Belgrade the media focuses on me.”

Report informs, head coach of Azerbaijan national team Robert Prosinečki told in his interview to the Večernji list commenting on rumors that he will coach the Serbian national team. 48-year-old specialist said he does not want to work in Balkan peninsula. Croatian head coach said working in European clubs is in his future plans:

“Being frankly, I am tired talking about it. If I say something it will lead to discussions. Let everyone knows that I don’t have any relations with any national team. Whenever I was asked, my answer was ‘no’. I thank everyone who mentions my name. But I will not be in the Serbian team. I have long experience in Balkans. Working in European clubs is in my future plans,” he said.

Prosinečki said Balkan mentality with a full of emotion may create big pressure in his life. For this reason, experienced specialist prefers to continue his career in a different region: “I know how to speak with a person who perfectly carries out his work. But those people still laugh at my transfer from Kayseri to Baku. Whereas I am far from pressures in Azerbaijan. There are people in Serbia with whom I have established eternal friendship. But I reiterate I don’t want to work in this region.”

Head coach also commented on the ‘trio” of the World’s best footballers.

Croatian specialist clarified why Lionel Messi is better player than Cristiano Ronaldo: "I don’t have any doubt that Messi is the world’s best footballer. The second place belongs to Ronaldo.”

Prosinečki justified dignifying the third place for his compatriot Luka Modrić as following: “If I had voted for him just because we are both from the same countries, I would go against my belief. Modrić is the strongest Croatian footballer in the history. The achievements he had reached in his career for the last three years gives reason to say that he is great. It is necessary to bow before the cups of Modrić. He plays in the strongest team of the last two years. He is also the best Croatian footballer, in the true sense of the word. It is difficult to overtake him.”

Though Serbian team qualified for 2018 World Cup to be held in Russia, the head coach of Serbia Slavoljub Muslin was sacked from the team. Mladen Krstajić is temporarily in charge for this position. Robert Prosinečki’s name also mentioned among the coaches who may replace Slavoljub Muslin. Three-year contract between AFFA and Robert Prosinečki expires in December. The parties have already announced that they bwill not continue cooperation.
