Renat Dadashov: I will play for my heart, for my father and mother

Baku. 27 January. REPORT.AZ/ “I am very happy to play for national team of my historic homeland”.

Player of German club “Eintracht” Renat Dadashov, who has recently been permitted by FIFA to play for Azerbaijan national squad told Report.

19-year-old striker of Frankfurt club’s U19 team is looking forward to play for national team: “Azerbaijan is my heart, homeland of my parents. I will play for my heart, for my father and mother. I will come to play and make supporters happy with my goals as soon as they invite me. Although I am not in “Eintracht”s main team, the club will not cause problem if I receive invitation”.

Dadashov also told that he replied to invitation from AFFA in shortest time: “AFFA’s Secretary General Elkhan Mammadov met with me. He asked if I want to play for Azerbaijan national team. I asked for some time to ponder. I talked with my brother Rufat Dadashov, who had played for Azerbaijan national team. My brother told to listen my heart and decide. Official from German football association also called me. Despite their suggestion to play for Germany, having pondered some time, I preferred to play for national team of my historic homeland. I needed short time to decide after invitation”.

Azerbaijan national team will play its next game on March 26 against Germany, country of Renat Dadashov’s residence. Dadashov told he is ready to step into the pitch at 2018 world cup qualification group match in Baku. He told that he will not have ambiguous feelings while playing against bundes-team.

Dadashov told that he is aware of current situation in Azerbaijan national team: “Of course, I have to be aware of team of the country, for whom I will play. I know that our team is now at third place in the group with 7 points after 4 games. New players have been invited to the squad from leagues of various countries. I know current players and head coach of the team. I am aware of highly competitive climate in the squad. But I am always ready for competition both in “Eintracht” and national squad.

Notably, FIFA Players’ Status Committee satisfied request from AFFA and Renat Dadashov to change association. The player has right to play for Azerbaijan national squad upon his own decision.
