Ramin Musayev: Reasons different for not allowing teams to first division - INTERVIEW

Baku. 15 September. REPORT.AZ/ Report’ News Agency presents an interview with the President of Professional Football League (PFL) Ramin Musayev.

- AFFA and PFL joint commission responded positively to only ten clubs who would like to participate in the I Divison. What is the reason for not participation of Goyazan, Energetik, Shahdag and Baku that competed in last season in the league?

- AFFA and PFL have posted official information on website in this regard. This step was taken considering submitted documents, professionalism, conditions and information from UEFA about fixed games and other details. That is, the reasons why the teams are not allowed to this competition are different. Some of them are known for buying and selling games, some have no base, no conditions, some are unable to pay salaries to footballers, and others can not submit full documents. All this gave grounds to the decision. In general, we can say that, these teams are currently unable to compete in I division.

- Why from new clubs only Vatan, Bina and Khazar were accepted?

- In fact, I gave the answer in first question. All three clubs were not allowed to compete due to failing to meet the requirements.

- You said that Goycha would be in the I Division. Why didn’t it happen?

- I did not say I it would play. I just said that such a club was created and applied for participation.I noted in the interviews that there are many teams that apply for participation. Their participation decided only after investigations. AFFA and PFL joint commission commented on reason why Goycha not included in the I Division.

- Are the clubs outside the I Divison interested in playing in the Region League?

- This is an offer from us. Undoubtedly, it is also not good for us when cities such as Gazakh, Mingachevir, Gusar, Yevlakh stay away from this competition. There are good infrastructure in Yevlakh and Mingachevir. Gusar football has always had good players, fans come to the stadium. We these facts very well. But there are some realities that need to be considered and the rules are fundamental. Creating a Regional League is a good offer and I think it is a great idea. This league can also be a boost to the establishment of the second league in Azerbaijan in the future.

- Are there changes expected in the I Division?

- The new limit is accepted in 6+2+3 format. There may be maximum 2 legionaries in stadium. In addition, it is also important to have three players born in 1996 and younger.
