Qatar players speak about importance of Azerbaijan game

Baku. 9 March. REPORT.AZ/ Qatar national players Yasir Abu Bakr and Pedro Miguel shared their opinions on Azerbaijan game to be played today at Jassim bin Hamad Stadium in Doha. Report informs, the players, who talked to official web site of Qatar Football Association, underlined the importance of the game.

Yasir Abu Bakr told that Azerbaijan game is important for physical and technical preparation of Qatar players. He noted that this friendly match is important in terms of preparation for 2018 World Cup qualification group matches with Iran on March 23 and Uzbekistan on March 28: “Azerbaijan game is a good experience before 2018 World Cup qualification matches with Iran and Uzbekistan. We will put maximum efforts to improve our preparedness. This game is very important in terms of tactical preparation for qualification games”.

26-year-old player of Qatar’s “El Jaish” club called supporters to support team in Azerbaijan game: “We will meet with strong team. Our rivals show good results in 2018 WC qualification games and have good chances. I call our supporters to support national team in home games with Azerbaijan and Iran. State support to the team will also have positive effect on the team”.

The midfielder Pedro Miguel also joined his opinion. The player, 27, told that they should not consider the friendly game with Azerbaijan as formality. He noted that he will try to use all opportunities at the game aiming at preparation of important and vital game with Iran: “We keep our chances for Mundial. We have to do our best at current stage to be ready for Iran game”.

Notably, the game at Jassim bin Hamad Stadium in Doha kicks off at 20:00 Baku time.
