Baku. 6 October. REPORT.AZ/ The 2022 FIFA World Cup scheduled to be hosted by Qatar might be postponed because of conflict between countries in the region, Report inform referring to BBC.
Saudi Arabia, Yemen, UAE, Egypt, Bahrein and Mauritania have jointly written to FIFA accusing Qatar of supporting international terrorism. The letter reads that Qatar will not be able to host championship at the appropriate level and ensure the safety of fans as this country is the ‘base for terrorists’.
It is noted that in case FIFA does not listen to their demands the countries are ready to boycott the tournament.
Hosting right Qatar received on October 2, 2010. Qatar had planned for 12 stadiums in its original bid, later their number was reduced till eight, the minimum required by FIFA.
