President of FC Atletico: We had 14,000 chances against Qarabag

Baku. 11 November. REPORT.AZ/ "I want to say this in a loud voice. Simeone is untouchable at Atletico Madrid, for the players, for the directors and for the supporters. Having doubts about Cholo Simeone is not allowed here".

Repot informs, Atletico president Enrique Cerezo said answering criticism of the club manager Diego Simeone.

He spoke about the club's performance at the Champions League: "I keep saying so. We are playing a game and games are the way they are. Sometimes you win and sometimes you lose. We could have scored four against Roma and then we had 14,000 chances against Qarabag. It's not just a problem specific to Atletico that players can be more or less clinical, but it's a problem for a lot of elite clubs. I keep saying we have a fantastic squad, a wonderful coach and a phenomenal fanbase. That's enough for me."

"It won't be easy, but if there is one team that can believe in miracles then it's Atletico Madrid. When you least expect it this club rises and from having nothing we can have it all. Our objective is to win our two matches and to hope that Chelsea or Roma stumble against Qarabag. Any title we win would taste very good."

Notably, Atletico ended away matches against Roma and Qarabag in goalless draw. Madrid match with the Azerbaijani team ended in a draw 1:1. The club lost only to Chelsea at home match 1:2.

Roma leads Group C with 8 points after 4 rounds. Chelsea collected 7 points, Atletico 3 and Qarabag 2. 

Qarabag will play against Chelsea at V round match on November 22 and Atletico against Roma. 

Roma will receive Qarabag, Chelsea to receive Atletico on December 5.
