FC "Gabala" player talks about his performance in Croatian national team

Baku. 18 January. REPORT.AZ/ “First, I received a phone call and they told I was invited to national squad. I was very happy and called home immediately. I told them this good news that I was invited to national team.”

Report informs, FC “Gabala” player Filip Ozobic told in his interview to club’s television channel, speaking about his invitation to Croatian national squad.

26-year-old player told he worked his entire life to be invited to national squad. “I know most of national players from lower age teams. We were like a family; we were friends”. Ozobic also talked about tournament in China: “The tournament was organized well. We lost both matches with penalties. I think we played well. I was feeling little tense before first game. I cooled down during the match and started to play easily. We had only one training before the game. That’s why we weren’t 100% ready for the game. I simply think we played well”.

Croatian player hopes he will be invited to national team again: “I think, Cacic saw first performance of players who hadn’t been included in national squad. May be he will call someone from this squad to world cup qualification match in March. The players whom he calls next time, will have good chance to stay in national squad. I believe that he will call me. But I am not sure how realistic I am. I have to play well in “Gabala”. I want to be country’s champion. In this case they will probably invite me”.

Notably, Croatian national squad played 2 games in “China Cup 2017”. The team squad Filip Ozobic lost both games in penalty shootout and positioned itself the 4th.
