Baku. 7 February. REPORT.AZ/ Report’s interview with Nikola Yurčevic, a candidate to the post of head coach of the Azerbaijani national football team

- How did you get your offer from AFFA?

- The Association contacted me and made an offer. We met and discussed.

- Where and whom did you meet?

- I came to Baku for the interview. We met with AFFA Secretary General Elkhan Mammadov and several representatives of the organization.

- What did you discuss at that meeting?

- We talked about our goals and plans regarding the national team. We talked about works to do in order to improve and get positive results.

- Are both sides satisfied with the financial conditions?

- We talked only about football, not money

- When will the final decision be made?

- I think the decision will be taken in a few days.

- Did you contact Robert Prosinečki, the former head coach of the national team of Azerbaijan with whom you played in the Croatian national team, after receiving the offer?

- Of course, I talked with both Prosinečki and his assistant Gordan Ciprić. They said positive things about Azerbaijan, Baku and the country.

- What matches of the national team of Azerbaijan have you watched so far?

- I watched a great number of matches. For example, I watched Azerbaijan's matches with Croatia, Germany, Italy, Norway, San Marino, the Czech Republic and other national teams. I also watched Qarabag's match against Atletico in the Champions League and against Neftchi in the last season's Premier League.

- Who do you know among Azerbaijani footballers?

- I will not give a name but there are plenty of good and interesting players.

- What are your first impressions of Azerbaijan?

- Very positive. Baku is a beautiful city, and if I am appointed as a head coach, I would live there with pleasure.
