Baku. 30 May. REPORT.AZ/ New head coach of Gabala FC has been named. Report informs citing the official website of the club, after the resignation of Ukrainian Roman Hryhorchuk as head coach, Sanan Gurbanov has been appointed to this position. 2-year contract was signed with a 38-year-old specialist.

As a footballer, he played for "Qarabag" (1998-2000), "Dynamo" (2000-03), "Shafa" (2003), "Saipa" Iran (2004), "MKT- Araz" (2004-05), "Shahdagh Qusar" (2005-06), Gabala (2006-07), AZAL (2007), ABN (2007-08), MOIK (2008), Mugan (2009), as well as in Azerbaijan's youth and major national teams. He played 1 game in the main squad. Gurbanov played in away match against Moldova (1: 2) on March 31, 2004.

After finishing his career as player, Gurbanov started working as a coach. Before the appointment as head coach in Gabala he served as assistant coach within that team. After bidding farewell to Dorinel Munteanu in December 2014 Gurbanov as a head coach led the team to 3 Premier League matches. In these games Gabala had 1 victory and 2 draws.
