A flight carrying Morocco’s national football squad from Guinea departed from the airport in the capital Conakry.
Report informs, citing foreign media, that the Moroccan team was in Conakry preparing for their World Cup qualifier game against Guinea that was scheduled to take place on September 6.
The game was postponed due to the recent development in Guinea.
Earlier in the day, elements of the Guinean Special Forces Group arrested long-time President Alpha Conde.
The group announced the success of a coup d’etat, which the National Defense Ministry denied, however.
