Messi doesn't want friendly match between Argentina and Azerbaijan

Baku. 30 October. REPORT.AZ/ It became known why the friendly match that Argentinian national team planned to play with Azerbaijan and Ukraine did not take place.

Report informs referring to the Vanguard, the South American team, Lionel Messi and other leading footballers did not want to play with these teams.

The report says, prior to planned match with Nigeria next year, Argentine Football Association (AFA) was willing to play friendly matches with Azerbaijan or Ukraine. The willing was related with proximity of both countries to Russia which will host 2018 World Cup. But at the time when negotiations went on in a positive direction leading footballers deemed it necessary to play first with Nigeria.

The players were offered to make a choice for the first friendly match between Nigeria, Azerbaijan or Ukraine. The team members insisted on Nigerian option.

The match between Argentina and Nigeria will take place in Krasnodar, November 14. Both countries have already qualified for the World Cup.
