Maradona accuses ex-wife of stealing 9 million dollars

Baku. 31 July. REPORT.AZ/ Diego Maradona has accused ex-wife Claudia Villafane of stealing $9million from his bank accounts, Report informs citing foreign media.

The former Argentine footballer and team manager made the accusation during a TV interview in which he branded ex Claudia Villafane a 'thief'.

The 54-year-old, who was married to childhood sweetheart Ms Villafane from 1998 to 2003, also threatened his childhood sweetheart with jail if she fails to get the money back.

According to the information, Maradona said: 'If she did what we fear she did, unfortunately she will have to go to jail.'

Maradona, who won the World Cup with Argentina in 1986 and is widely regarded as one of the best football players of all time, has long complained of money missing from his vast fortune.
