Mahir Mammadov comments on Prosinečki’s willing to leave Azerbaijan team

Baku. 11 October. REPORT.AZ/ “There is a saying, if someone wants to leave, you’ve got to let go. If Robert Prosinečki wants to go, I don’t believe that AFFA leadership to hold onto him”

Mahir Mammadov, member of AFFA Executive Committee told Report commenting on Prosinečki’s unwillingness to coach Azerbaijani national team. Yet, M.Mammadli acclaimed the job of Croatian specialist as a head coach of Azerbaijani national team. He said national team looked more prepared particularly in the last qualifying round.

“Prosinečki has worked in Azerbaijan for three years. I positively consider his work. The national team played more confidently in the qualifying round of 2018 World Cup and demonstrated nice results. The team was even more physically prepared as compared with previous qualifying campaigns”, he stated. 

Robert Prosinečki in his interview to Croatian media said that most likely he will not stay to coach Azerbaijani national team. His three-year contract expires in December.
