Sofia. 29 November. REPORT.AZ/ Advocate of former ‘Inter’ president Georgy Nikolov, banned to travel out of Azerbaijan, will pay a visit to Baku.
Eastern Europe bureau of Report informs, lawyer of Bulgarian football functionary Vladimir Sheytanov told in press conference. Lawyer added that he will study the reason of ban on former president to travel out country.
“Nikolov is currently released, there are no accusations against him, but they ban him from leaveing Azerbaijan. I will travel to Baku to study the case. We have no intention to intervene in the work of the agency, which carries out investigation; but want to be informed on reason of the ban”, the lawyer told.
G.Nikolov’s son Pavel Nikolov, saying that his parents were detained at the airport, while trying to travel to Bulgaria from Azerbaijan on September 19, 2015, noted that Bulgarian president Rosen Pleveneliyev and foreign minister have also been informed on the issue: “My parents are in contact with our embassy in Azerbaijan and ambassador Maya Hristova. Ambassador promised to provide all possible legal support. On January 17, 2016 the international Bank and the club stated that they have no financial claim against Georgy Nikolov. My father is ill and should travel to Germany for his treatment. I haven’t seen my father and mother since 2015”.
P.Nikolov also noted that he intends to travel to Baku to meet his parents: “I want to receive weekly visa to Azerbaijan in coming days.”
Notably, Georgy Nikolov was ‘Inter’ club’s president during 2006 – 2015. Ex-governor of International Bank of Azerbaijan (IBA) Jahangir Haciyev was a honored president of the club.
