Baku. 26 September. REPORT.AZ/ Henrikh Mkhitaryan the footballer of the Arsenal FC and Armenian national team has been deprived of his diplomatic passport.
Report informs citing the Hraparak newspaper that the reason for this move against Arsenal's player is not disclosed.
Diplomatic passport is available to high-ranking officials, MPs and to those citizens approved by the decree of the Armenian Prime Minister. This document is given to the "ambassadors" of the Armenian people and state, those who raise the country's influence abroad. Mkhitaryan was among those people. The newspaper has not been able to get comment on the issue from the Foreign Ministry of Armenia.
Earlier, the Armenian Foreign Ministry urged senior officials to return their diplomatic passports.
Arsenal is in the same group as Qarabag FC in the Europa League. The first match between the two teams will be held on October 4 at the Baku Olympic Stadium. It is yet unclear whether Henrik Mkhitaryan will participate in the match.
