Footballer of Azerbaijani national team may face up to 5 years in jail

Baku. 8 June. REPORT.AZ/ Eddie Israfilov, a footballer of the Azerbaijani national team and Spain's Alcorcón club, can be arrested for up to five years.

The 26-year-old striker is accused of spreading sexually explicit video with the participation of his team mateds Sergio Enrique and Antonio Luna, when he was played in Eibar in July 2015.

Woman who was intimate relationship with Enrique and Luna asks them not to tape, but they did not just follow it, even they later sent it to other people. Footballers sent this to Israfilov via Whatsapp on the basis of mutual agreement.

According to the victim's lawyer Inigo Irui, the court blames Enrique and Luna as well as Israfilov on taping and spreading of video without permisson. According to the change in Criminal Code in 2015, which prohibits taping without permission or taping for spreading, it imposes 2-5 years imprisonment.

The victim appealed to the law-enforcement bodies for the moral damage caused to her. The players asked for forgiveness in their testimony. After the investigation complete, the verdict will be officially prosecuted.

Notably, Eddy Israfilov has had eight matches in the Azerbaijani national team since 2015.
