Baku. 27 February. REPORT.AZ/ Dario Srna, who plays for Italy's Cagliari, may return to Croatia national team.
Report informs citing the Jutarnji List that this issue appeared on the agenda after the long-lasting disappearance of right-wing player Šime Vrsaljko. In November last year, coach Zlatko Dalić said that he would not object to Srna’s return to the national team in exceptional circumstances. As such situation did not accur, that time the 36-year-old defender did not return to the team. However, Vrsaljko, who had a surgery on his knee, is expected to miss the Euro 2020 qualifying round.
Srna is having a successful season in Cagliari. He has already performed in 21 games. An official offer has not yet been submitted to the footballer who completed his career in 2016. Even it is unclear how the footballer will react to such a proposal. Dalić answered the question, "How will you solve the problem on right wing?" saying 'We have solved many issues, and we will solve this one too.'
Tin Jedvaj, footballer of Germany's Bayer Leverkusen and Josip Juranović of Hajduk are currently the candidates for this position.
